Expect the best in 2010

Aristotle said, "What we expect, that we shall find."

Think about Aristotle’s quote. In simpler terms, we get what we expect. If you look closely into the past, you will find every indication of this truth in your life.

For example, how often have you worried about something so much that you became consumed with concern? Only to find the adversity that you expected came true.

Then again, there were probably times you believed strongly in a favorable outcome and chose the route of letting go; deciding that worrying was just not worth it. Only to find, as if some miracle occurred, the expected positive result became a reality.

What Aristotle said so many years ago still holds true today. As 2009 draws to a close, your life is exactly what you expected. With that in mind, may the coming new year become a time of discovery for you. A year in which you receive into your life all that you desire, believe, and expect!

A Holiday Tradition

Many years ago, I decided it would be nice to give a gift to someone that I knew would not be giving one to me. My two girls were little at the time and I thought it would also help them learn the true meaning of giving.

We would give great thought as to who the "lucky" person would be and present it to them at Christmas. My recipients have ranged from colleagues, neighbors, and acquaintances to people I didn't even know but were nice to me in a store. The gifts have gone from those fun $1 bills w/Santa in the middle and McDonalds gift certificates to carefully planned items picked out especially for the individual.

This holiday season consider sharing in my tradition and give to someone who will not expect something from you. Who knows? It might be one of their most meaningful gifts this year.
